Follow The Directions

01

Step

Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and place them in a medium bowl. Sprinkle with Cajun seasoning and toss until the wings are evenly coated. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Place a trivet in a multi-functional pressure cooker (such as an Instant Pot®). Arrange the seasoned wings on the trivet, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Pour 1/2 cup of cold water around the wings in the pot. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Secure and lock the lid of the Instant Pot and ensure the pressure is set to 'Sealing'. Select high pressure according to the manufacturer's instructions and set the timer for 5 minutes. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for the pressure to build inside the pot. (15 minutes)

04

Step

While the wings are cooking in the Instant Pot, preheat your oven to broil on high. Place the oven rack one level higher than the center position. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a cooling rack on top of the foil-lined sheet. Spray the cooling rack generously with nonstick cooking spray to prevent the wings from sticking. Set the baking sheet aside. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Once the wings have finished cooking in the pressure cooker, allow the pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, carefully turn the knob to the 'Venting' position to release any remaining steam. Unlock and remove the lid. (10 minutes)

06

Step

In a separate bowl, combine the hot sauce, barbeque sauce, and melted butter. Mix well until the sauce is smooth and emulsified. Place the cooked wings in a large bowl and pour half of the prepared sauce over them. Use a large spoon or tongs to toss the wings until they are thoroughly coated in the sauce. (5 minutes)

07

Step

Arrange the sauced wings in a single layer on the prepared wire rack on the baking sheet. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Vent the oven door slightly to allow moisture to escape and broil the wings on each side until they reach your desired level of crispness, approximately 5 to 10 minutes per side. Rotate the baking sheet halfway through cooking to ensure even browning. (10-20 minutes)

08

Step

Remove the wings from the oven and transfer them to a clean bowl. Pour the remaining sauce over the top and toss gently to coat. Serve immediately and enjoy!

For extra crispy wings, consider placing them under the broiler for a longer period, keeping a close eye to prevent burning.
Adjust the amount of Cajun seasoning and hot sauce to suit your personal spice preference.
If you don't have a wire rack, you can place the wings directly on the foil-lined baking sheet, but the wire rack helps to crisp them up more evenly.
Serve with blue cheese or ranch dressing, celery sticks, and carrot sticks for a classic wings experience.
